We are on the lookout for a Frontend Developer to join our dynamic engineering team. If you have expertise in creating exceptional user interfaces with React and TypeScript and a knack for bringing designs to life, then we’d like to hear from you. You'll collaborate closely with our designers and backend developers to build high-quality, interactive, and engaging interfaces.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Interface Implementation: Implement user interfaces and features based on design specifications using React and TypeScript.
  • Component Development: Build and maintain reusable and modular components for efficient development.
  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure accurate translation of design concepts into functional interfaces.
  • Code Quality: Write clean and maintainable code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Requirement Analysis: Work closely with other developers and product managers to understand requirements and deliver features.
  • Agile Participation: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Documentation Maintenance: Maintain documentation for code and features, ensuring it's up-to-date and accessible to team members.
  • Team Communication: Communicate effectively within the team, sharing progress, roadblocks, and ideas for improvement.
  • Version Control: Utilise version control tools (e.g., Git) effectively to collaborate on code changes and merge requests.

What you won’t be doing:

  • Working In Isolation: You won’t be working in isolation; this role emphasises cross-functional collaboration and teamwork.
  • Static Work Routine: You won’t be confined to a monotonous routine; this role offers dynamic challenges and opportunities to innovate.

What you need to succeed:

  • Technical Expertise: A solid understanding of the React and TypeScript ecosystem.
  • Framework Experience: Good experience with Tailwind CSS or a similar utility-first framework.
  • Frontend Experience: 3+ years of frontend development experience.
  • HTML5 Knowledge: Understanding of HTML5 semantics and best practices for creating accessible web applications.
  • Project Experience: Previous experience working on React (or similar) projects, showcasing your ability to design and build user interfaces.
  • Code Review Participation: Experience participating in thorough code reviews, maintaining code quality, and collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and contribute positively to the team dynamic.
  • User Experience Focus: A deep care about providing a great user experience.
  • Prioritisation Skills: Understanding the importance of prioritisation in your work to ensure a good balance between development velocity and code quality.

Nice-to-haves (non-essential):

  • Experience with UI testing tools such as Storybook/Chromatic, Percy.
  • Basic design skills to collaborate effectively with UI/UX designers.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
  • Previous experience contributing to technical decision-making.
  • Experience with React Query (Tanstack).
  • Familiarity with Context API

Our interview process:

Understanding that interviews can be overwhelming, we've streamlined our process to make it more approachable:

  • Firstly, our friendly Talent team will give you a call for a brief chat, addressing any questions you may have before we consider proceeding to our interview phase.
  • Next up, you'll be invited to a Teams call (or visit our HQ if you prefer) for a 45-minute interview with the department head and a senior manager. You will then be asked to complete a short assessment to submit back within a few days.
  • If the fit seems right, and the assessment has gone well, a final 'feel-good' check awaits as you meet in person with your line manager.

We aim to make the process as seamless and reassuring as possible.
